Music has been a getaway for me since my school days. My father introduced me to Western music at a pretty early age, mainly country and folk music. As I grew up, my taste branched out in a wide variety of genres, and the desire to savor them better started budding.
Being from a middle-class Indian family, it was quite difficult to get introduced to audiophile-grade equipment. My first toe-dipping was with Audio-Technica ATH-SJ33 and Soundmagic E50C. Since opportunities to audition before purchasing were non-existent, I started browsing head-fi in 2015 to be able to make more informed decisions.
The journey in audiophilia has been wonderful since then. The continuous discovery of new apparatus, music, preferences, and most importantly, new friends have helped me forge my audiophile self. Thankfully my taste in music varies quite widely - country, folk, rock (classic, hard, punk, alternative, progressive, indie, post), metal (heavy, gothic, melodic death, symphonic, progressive, folk), r&b, pop, instrumental, etc.; hence I am never out of worlds to explore!
I always have an inkling to unearth hidden treasures and have discovered many gems along the way. I do love to put my thoughts about what I am hearing into words, and that is how the reviewing stint started in 2020. Here’s hoping for more of them in the coming years.
